In loving memory of John Barbeau, 88 years who passed peacefully on April 18, 2018 at HSN, surrounded by his family. Born on February 17, 1930 in Azilda, son of Florence and Alphonse Barbeau. Beloved husband of Mary Barbeau (nee DeLuca) married 63 years. Father of Susan Thibault (Jacques) and Paul Barbeau (Paula Brazeau). His only granddaughter, Emilie Thibault was the pride and joy of his life. He leaves behind 3 siblings, Maurice Barbeau of Sault-Ste-Marie, Lorraine Campbell of Lubbock, Texas and Claudette Lapointe of Sudbury. John spent all of his working career with Sudbury Hydro. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and lived his summer months at the Cedar Green golf course. Recently, he was inducted into the Sudbury Sports Hall of Fame for his contribution to baseball in the Sudbury area, an award which he was very proud of. His friendships were numerous with the “old gang” and more recently with his new found gang “the coffee boys”. Special thanks to Dr. R. Sawkiw and staff for taking such good care of him and all the doctors and staff at HSN who were involved in his treatment and care. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St-Andrew’s the Apostle Church on April 28, 2018 at 11 a.m. Interment in the Civic Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, Sudbury.
