The family announces with sadness his passing in Sudbury, on Friday, May 11th, 2018 at the age of 88 years. Son of the late Narcisse and Clara (Paquette) Vachon. Beloved husband of 68 years to Constance Vachon (née Langis). Loving father of Carmen Berthiaume (Norm), Rhena, Nicole Romain (Rock), Alain (Georgia) and Marcel predeceased. Cherished grandfather of Julie, Sophie, Liane, Eric, Melissa, Ashley, Natasha, Christina and Stuart. Great-grandfather of 19 great-grandchildren. Survived by his sister Rolande Joliat, predeceased by his brothers: Julien, Sylvio and Jean-Guy. Also survived by his sister-in-law Réjeanne Fredette and brother-in-law Anatole Langis. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Retired from INCO after 32 years. Aurelien was a passionate farmer and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. A very special thank you to Dr. Merotto, nurses and PSW’s on the 8th floor at HSN for their compassionate care. The family will receive relatives and friends at St-Joseph Church, Chelmsford, on Tuesday, May 15th, 2018 after 10:15 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. Donations can be made by cheque or online to Autism Society Ontario. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
