Avis de décès pour Alice Pennarun

PENNARUN, Alice (nee Gamache)
Passed away peacefully at the age of 99 at St. Gabriel’s Villa on Sunday, October 7, 2018. Alice was born in Ste Rose, Manitoba to Romuald and Alpaide (nee Fradette) Gamache. Beloved wife of the late Roger Pennarun (predeceased 1979). They moved to Garson in 1955, where they raised nine children. Alice was dedicated to her family, and prayed for them every day. She will be sadly missed by her children Geri Heffernan (Dennis, deceased), Renee Joly (Raymond), Mark (Debbie Thompson), Claude (Becky Guindon), Nicole Vandeligt (Peter), Valerie Jarus (Brian), Pat (Colleen Harper), Patsy Wainman (Doug) and Joanne Drake (John Mirabelli). Alice dearly loved her 23 grandchildren: Penny, Carrie, Mark, Tracy, Robin, Laurie, Lisa, Melissa, Gene, Terri-Ann, Michael, Christine, Chelsea, Curt, Christopher, Lee, Ashley, Kali, Sean, Roger, Clayton, Cameron, and Carter. Alice was also blessed with 30 great grandchildren: Hailey, Aubrey, Tyler, Janie, Marcie, Camille, Samuel, Hannah, Alyssa, Juliana, Celeste, Mira, Ashton, Cohen, Maxwell, Charles, Aaliyah, Safiyah, Khloe, Maddox, Talia, Evan, Kyla, Carter, Parker, Penelope, Ember, Taylor, Mason, and Audrey. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Alice was the eighth of eleven siblings who are all predeceased: Philip, Maria, Wilfrid, Emile, Lorenzo, Lea, Orise, Maurice, Geraldine, and Romeo. Alice was an exceptionally humble woman, whose faith in God never wavered through all of the challenges she faced during her life. Alice rarely missed mass and was a member of St. John’s CWL, Garson. Alice was a lifetime member of the Nickel Centre Seniors Club. She was an extremely independent and self-sufficient woman, living and travelling on her own for many years, including many winters in Florida. She had a quick wit and a great sense of humour; she was an avid Bridge and Scrabble player, a talented knitter, seamstress and quilter. We wish to thank all her caregivers at St. Gabriel’s Villa who gave her exceptional care. Alice enriched the lives of all who knew her; her beautiful and lively spirit lives on in all of her children. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd., Sudbury, Friday, October 12, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mass and Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, Oct 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church in Garson.
