The family announces with great sorrow his passing in Sudbury, Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the age of 88 years. Beloved husband of Constance (née Ouimet ) Lachapelle. Son of the late Josephat and the late Alice (née Lapalme) Lachapelle. Loving father of Brian (Lisa), Lise Rovinelli (Albert) and Pierre. Predeceased by his sons Maurice and Marc. Predeceased by his brothers Rolland (late Rhéa), Emile (Jeanne) and Raymond (Irène). Cherished grandfather of Julie, Anthony, Jacob, Ariana, Lucas and great grandfather of Michael. Gérard worked for CPR-Via Rail for 35 years and retired in 1985. He met his wife Connie at the telegraph office. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, especially his godchild Paul. The family would like to thank the all the staff at Pioneer Manor. Special thank you to the staff of Cedar, Dr. St-Martin and Fr. Lajeunesse. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m. in the Chapel.
