The family announces with sorrow his passing at Maison McCulloch Hospice, Sudbury, Thursday, September 21st, 2017 at the age of 72. Son of the late Constant Démoré and Rhéa (née Despatie) both predeceased. Son-in-law of Prosper Poitras and Rose (née Fex) both predeceased. Loving husband and best friend of 51 years of Yolande (née Poitras). Loving father of Sylvie (Rose Berardelli) of Sault Ste Marie and Julie Coutu (Paul Simmons) of Milton. Adored grandfather of Cassandra Coutu. Also survived by his sister Claudette (Bob McKeddie predeceased) of Val Caron, Léonie (Ron Lamothe) of Sudbury, Michel (Diane) of Sudbury, and Jean (Nichole) of Ottawa. Brother-in-law of Raymond (Françoise) of Hanmer, Yvette Matthews (predeceased), Claude (Suzanne) of Hanmer, Pauline (Jean-Claude Brabant) of Hanmer and Colette (Denis Pilon) of Wahnapitae. Also missed by his many nieces and nephews. A retired CN employee, he was fondly known as “Pepsi” to his co-workers. Claude was an avid fan of “Les Canadiens”. He loved to travel, camp, fish and was known for his woodworking pieces. He was a joker to everyone who knew him. He would want everyone to always remember that “It is what it is”. Claude’s family wish to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff and volunteers of the Maison McCulloch Hospice for the excellent care given to Claude during his final days. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 4570 St-Joseph Street, Hanmer on Friday, October 6th, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 7th, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Ste-Marguerite d’Youville in Val Thérèse.
