Avis de décès pour Hans Schikor

SCHIKOR, Hans
The family regrets to announce the passing of Hans Schikor on March 27th, 2018. He died peacefully in the company of his three children and his wife, Elsie.
To know Hans was to know that he had a big life to share: Hans was born in Breslau in 1931 and emigrated to Canada shortly after the end of WW2. He held a number of jobs in Winnipeg and Toronto, but heard that he could make $1.50/hr at the mine in Sudbury—from that time, he worked at Inco until he took an early retirement to work for himself as a landlord.
Hans loved his garden, his camp, finding a deal at a yard sale, puttering in his garage, and discovering a plentiful blueberry bush that he could turn into wine. He knew how to find value in what was broken and how to extend the life of almost any knob, doohickey, motor or whatsit. Hans travelled extensively and shared what he had with others; we are so lucky to know Hans and to know his love of life, his curiosity, and his generosity.
Hans leaves behind his loving wife Elsie, his children: Janet (Allan) Kean, Rick (Nancy) Schikor, and Lori (Dave) Pierini; his seven grandchildren: Allison, Erin (Brodie) and Michael (Collette) Kean; Amy (Daryl) Weinhardt, Steven (Breanne), and Gregory Schikor; Amber Pierini; and two great grandchildren, Konrad and Blake Weinhardt. Hans is also survived by his brother Henry and predeceased by his older brother Helmut.
The family would like to thank Dr. Gil and his staff at the Cancer Clinic, Claire Warren from CCAC, as well as Tracey, his Bayshore nurse.
