Peacefully passed away at home on Friday, March 14, 2014 at the age of 79 years. Beloved husband of 57 years to Marie-Ange (née Julien) Vaillant. Loving father of Pierre Vaillant (Jocelyne), Carole Vaillant, Roger Vaillant (Jo-Anne Rousseau) and Denis Vaillant. Cherished grandfather of Maxime Vaillant (Vincent Paquin) and Stéfanie Vaillant. Predeceased by all his siblings Jacqueline, Nil, Noël and Diane and by his parents Philippe and Anésie (née Desmarais) Vaillant. The family wishes to express a thank you to the Red Cross, especially Angèle and Jackie and to Bay Shore, especially nurse Joanne. Gérald worked for Falconbridge for 24 years. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 4691 R.R. 15, Chelmsford on Friday, March 21st, 2014 from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 22nd, 2014 at 11h00 at Paroisse St-Joseph, Chelmsford.
