Born April 23, 1940 and passed on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2013 at the age of 72, surrounded by his loving family at the Health Sciences North in Sudbury. Beloved husband of 51 years to Hélène Vaillancourt (née Brosseau). Son of the late Normand and Lucille Vaillancourt (née Durand). Loving father of Diane Rabouin (Martin) and Ronald Jr. (Bucko) Vaillancourt (Thérèse). Cherished grandfather of Mélanie Morrissette (fiancé André Chartrand), André Rabouin and step-grandfather to Riley and Robin. Dear brother of Roma Vaillancourt (late Pauline), Claire Bastien (late Robert), Cléo Vaillancourt (Francine) and Claudette Moncion (Roger). Predeceased by his siblings; Rita 1, Bernard, Madeleine and Rita 2. Son-in-law of the late Charles Edouard and Marie-Aline Brosseau (née Déquanne). Lovingly remembered by his in-laws; Lionel Brosseau (Gisèle), Pierrette Duval (Raymond), Agathe Trottier (Léo-Paul), Mona St-Onge (Cléo), Nicole Daoust (Claude) and the late Normand Brosseau. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and his best friend, his dog “Mr. Zach”. Ron worked at Inco for 34 years and he devoted his life to his family and many friends. He enjoyed life to the fullest sharing special and cherished memories with everyone he touched. He loved going to the gym every morning, camping, golfing and watching his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. Most of all he loved walking his best friend Mr. Zach. The family would like to express its appreciation to the Health Sciences North for their kind and compassionate care. In keeping with Ronald’s wishes there will be no visitations. A funeral mass for his friends and family will be held at a later date. Donations (by cheque only) to the Northern Cancer Foundation or the Ontario Lung Association of Sudbury would be greatly appreciated.
