It is with great sorrow that the family announces his passing in Chelmsford on Friday, February 22nd, 2013 at the age of 81 years. Son of the late Adrien and the late Pomela (née Mainville) Joliat. Beloved husband of 38 years to Corinne “Connie” (née Duchesne) Durette Joliat of Azilda. Predeceased by his first wife Julienne (née Groulx) Joliat. Loving father of Francine Joliat of Sudbury and Luc Joliat of Chelmsford. Cherished step-father of Denise Little (Jon), Marcel Durette, Jeanne Dubuc (Éric), Philippe Durette (Marina) all of Southern Ontario. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Joanne Colacci (David), Alain Dubuc, Sara Lang (John), Travis Bisson (fiancée Julie), Stéphane Durette, Alex Joliat and by his great-granddaughter Emily Lang. Dear brother of Hortense Labine (late Robert), Claire Blais (late Omer), Jacques Joliat (Florence) and Marcel Joliat (Cécile)(late Hélène). Predeceased by his brothers, Gérard Joliat (survived by Rolande), Roger Joliat (survived by Rollande) and by his sisters, Réjeanne Portelance (late Claude), Anne-Marie Miron (late Jean-Paul). Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Richard was 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus council 6258 and 4th Degree of Assembly Mgr. Adolphe Proulx. He retired from Falconbridge after 31 years of service. The family wishes to thank the PSW’s on Whitson floor at St-Gabriel’s Villa for their care and compassion towards Richard and his family. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home 4691 R.R. 15, Chelmsford on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Ste-Agnès Church in Azilda. Donations (by cheque only) to St-Gabriel Villa would be greatly appreciated.
