It is with deep sorrow that the family announces his passing from cancer at Health Sciences North on Saturday, July 5th, 2014 at the age of 87 years. Beloved husband of Gertrude (née Piquette). Cherished father of Maurice (Madeleine) of Hanmer, Roger (Diane) of Wahnapitae and Rhéal (Diane) of Azilda. Sadly missed by his adored 8 grandchildren (predeceased Richard) and 9 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Lucienne (Lionel Dalcourt), Roland (Éliane), Jeannine (late Jacques Lapierre), Georges (Louise), Raymond (Rita), Simone Fortin (friend Georges), Aurel (Claire), Doris (Deo) (Simone), Clarisse (Bob Major) and Paulette Bertrand (friend René). Predeceased by his sister Yvette (Rodolphe Dalcourt) and brother Marcel (Cécile). Lionel was a welder with Local 800 of Sudbury until he retired in 1991. He loved camping, fishing and being surrounded by his family, brothers and sisters. Mom and Dad never missed their morning coffee run to meet with the friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 4570 St-Joseph, Hanmer, Wednesday, July 9th from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Ste-Marguerite d’Youville Church, Val Thérèse.
