Avis de décès pour Alexander Newsky

Alex passed away at the Elizabeth Care Centre, after fighting a brave battle with cancer, on September 1, 2014. Devoted husband to his wife of 30 years, Henriette (Lanoix) Newsky. A truly lovely man who was accepting of everyone and generous of spirit, he is finally to be reunited with his parents and brother. He leaves behind his family to mourn him: Michelle and Tom Moore, Jody Jankola, Cindy and Rick Caya and granddaughter Skeena Shewman. Alex was a loyal Falconbridge employee – retiring after 30 years of service. A proud Canadian citizen, his beloved homeland of Ukraine always remained near and dear to his heart. A complex and sophisticated man, he was well read and knew how to appreciate life’s simple pleasures: his baseball hat collection, a glass of red wine, classical music and a day spent fishing. Awaiting him at heaven’s gate are his sister-in-law Denise Lanoix and his boys Karlin Shewman, Paul Bustos and Johnathan Hetu (rods and reels in hand). The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the devoted, compassionate and caring staff at the Elizabeth Care Centre. In their care, he left this world in comfort and with dignity. There will be no visitation or service at his request. Those who wish to may make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in Alex’s memory.
