The family announces with great sorrow his passing in Sudbury on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the age of 71 years. Beloved husband of Linda (née Yarkie) French of Bonfield. Predeceased by his parents Louis and Marie (née Portelance) French. Loving father of Rick, Cindy (Marcel), Roger (Marianne) and Isabel (Rick). Dear brother of Gerald and Pat (Lou). Predeceased by his siblings Marie, Doreen, Andy, Adrian, Rene, Dan, Raymond and Roland. Cherished grandfather of Melissa, Jessica, David, Corey, Tyler, Devan, Reagan, Carson and great-grandfather of Jack, Ella and Brody. He will be greatly missed by his pets Coco, Cuddles and Diamond. Roger was a hardworking man who had a passion for music. He was known as “Stompin Roger” and for many Hank Williams performances. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 4691 RR 15, Chelmsford on Saturday, December 27, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and from 2 to 4:30 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 4:30 p.m. in the Chapel. As expressions of sympathy, donations (by cheque only) to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Hearing Society would be appreciated.
