The family announces with sorrow his passing in Sudbury, Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the age of 54 years. Beloved husband of Denise (née Philion) Plouffe of Sudbury. Son of the late George and the late Claire (née Gagné) Plouffe. Loving father of Gabrielle Plouffe (Eric) and Danielle Plouffe both of Sudbury. Cherished grandfather of Chloé. Dear brother of Richard Plouffe (Linda) of Cache Bay, Myonne Bigras (Bernard) of River Valley, Marc Plouffe (Debbie) of Wahnapitae and Michel Plouffe (Lynn) of Calgary. Predeceased by his sister Nicole. Fondly remembered by his mother-in-law Lucille Philion (late Johnny), his sisters-in-law Lise Menard (Joe), Rachel Stevens (Brian), his brothers-in-law Claude Philion (Sherry) and Jean-Guy Philion all of Sturgeon Falls. Sadly missed by his “daughter” Natalie Horsfall (Jack) of Garson. Lovingly remembered by Thérèse Ayotte (Ray), Guy Ayotte (Jen), Sandra Armstrong and her family. Gilles was a supervisor with the Manitoulin-Sudbury District Social Services and will be missed by all. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St-Dominique Church, Sudbury. Due to his profound admiration of Elton John, people who knew him will appreciate the family’s decision that in lieu of flowers, donations to the Elton John Aids Foundation can be made by cheque or online at www.ejaf.org.
