It is with great sorrow that the family announces his passing on Monday, May 9, 2016 at the age of 91 years. Husband of 52 years to the late Jeannette (née Perreault) Sloboda. Son of the late Harry and the late Caroline Sloboda. Loving father of Mary-Anne Van Der Veen (Joseph) of Kitchener, Holly Ranville (Thomas) of Waterloo, Audrey Sloboda of Elmira and Bob Sloboda of Azilda. Dear brother of Rose (late Leonard), Annie (late Peter), Jean (late Roy), Josephine (late Owen), Barbara and Bill. Predeceased by his siblings Joe, Mike (late Anne), Madeline (late Dick), Mary (late Phil), Emily and Helen. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Adam, Tanya, Melissa, Mariah, Carter and by his great-grandchildren Halen, Jessica, Owen and Matthew. Survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The family is very grateful to Adrian and Lucy Soucy for their kindness throughout the years. John was an avid fisherman; he enjoyed mechanical repairs and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be missed by all.
