The family announces with great sorrow her passing, Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the age of 83 years. Beloved wife of Don Sarmatiuk and Archie Scully, both predeceased. Cherished sister of the late Pete Rysdale (Marilyn), Harry “Joe” Rysdale, Ken Rysdale (Adrian) and the late Billy Rysdale. Loving mother of Karen Scully (Cil Pinkett) of Toronto, Judy Scully (Peter Zieleniewski) of Chelmsford, Barry Scully (Vicki) of Levack, Brenda Thompson (Brian) of Sudbury and Sandra Tegel (Darren) of Chelmsford. Stepmother to Lorrie Petryna (Greg) of Sudbury, Michael Sarmatiuk (Sonya) of Bowmanville and Tim Sarmatiuk (Krista) of Sudbury. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Liam, Archie-Ross, Regan (Keith), Devin, Trevor (Natalie), Chelsey (Nick), Alanna (Grant), Cale, Stephen, Heather (Kevin), Christopher, Alexandra, Cameron, Curtis, Zachary, Owen, Megan, and her great-granddaughter Isabel. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Eleanor worked for the Ministry of Health for many years leaving behind many friends and fond memories. She worked tirelessly for the Catholic Women’s League at Holy Redeemer Parish and was a founder of the parishes’ Christmas Basket Campaign. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of St-Joseph’s Villa for their excellent care over the past 4 years. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Church, Sudbury. Interment to follow at Park Lawn Cemetery. Donations to Holy Redeemer Church for the Christmas Basket Fund or to St-Joseph’s Foundation (St-Joseph’s Villa) would be appreciated.
