The family announces with great sorrow his passing in Sudbury, Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the age of 80 years. Beloved husband of Shirley (née Shea) Mirka. Son of the late Andrew and the late Elsie (née Kozmunuk) Mirka. Loving father of Cecilia Kilgour (Jim), Michael (Theresa) and Mitchell. Dear brother of Patrick (Donna). Predeceased by his brothers and sisters Bob (late Irene), David, Helen (Raymond), Lawrence (Monique) and Elenor (late Edward). Cherished grandfather of 7. Eugene served with the NATO occupation forces in Germany in the Airborne Division, and received the NATO medal. His many pastimes included hunting and fishing. Funeral mass will be held Saturday, April 1st , 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St-Bartholomew Church, Levack. Reception to follow at the Onaping Royal Canadian Legion Hall.
