Avis de décès pour Robert Bois

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Robert Lucien Bois of Sudbury on March 18th, 2017. Robert was born in Sturgeon Falls May 25th, 1931. He is predeceased by his father Simeon, mother Josephine, sisters Victorine and Jeanne d’Arc as well as his brother and best friend Jean Paul. He is survived by his younger sister Lucille. Robert is also survived by the love of his life and partner on their chosen journey, Billie (nee Olive) with whom he lived a rich life for 64 years. He was the biggest fan of his 4 children Rachel (David), Monique (Shawn), Robert (Louise) and Pierre (Nicole). Robert was named “Pap” by his first grandson Gregg and so he will lovingly remain in the hearts of his 5 surviving grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Robert spent the better part of his career working at the Copper Cliff Oxygen Plant with Inco. He considered himself among the fortunate to have had almost as many retirement years as he did working years. During his retirement, he enjoyed hiking, camping and traveling but most of all, it gave him the chance to spend more time with his family. Everything he did in life was driven by a strong love of family – he considered family his greatest purpose and achievement in life. Robert drew in many with his kindness and compassion. No matter who you were, how you came into his life, you would have felt like you met the kindest soul you could ever hope to meet. He always reminded those around him that it was important in life to always be fair. In his quiet way, he watched over his loved ones with all that is good in mind. From his many stories, we learned valued life lessons. His family is so grateful for his wisdom, integrity and guidance which will remain with them forever. A prankster at heart, he loved to stir up laughter, and recount how the many tricks he pulled on friends and co-workers. But it was the smile on his face that made everyone feel happy and better. And we can never forget how for over 60 years he was “the best weatherman” around, having mastered barometer readings and was unrivaled in weather speak. Such a dignified and gentle man to all he encountered in life, he will be missed for his loving ways and will live in us forever. We could not possibly love you more than we do Pap. Thank you for loving us. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Thursday, March 23rd, 2017 from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 24th, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Notre-Dame de la Merci Church, Coniston.
