January 29th, 1932 – Saturday, May 13th, 2017. Our loving and devoted father, Otello, 85, was married 48 years and predeceased by his adoring spouse, Giuliana (LaSorsa) in 2005. After a lengthy battle with cancer, Otello peacefully passed away at Health Sciences North in Sudbury. “Dad held our hands throughout our lives and he will be held in our hearts forever.” Son of the late Guiseppe Sbrega and Maria Mauri. Adored and respected father of Diana Mason (David), Adriano Sbrega (Gisèle) and Tania Sbrega. Cherished nonno of Joshua and Jesse Sbrega (Sarah Mavin), Corinne Fines (Corbett) and Michael and Stephen Mason. Beloved great-grandfather of Rachael Sbrega, and Everett and Leland Fines. Esteemed brother of Livia Sbrega (Luciano Ricci) and predeceased by his sister Grazia Sbrega (late Enrico Eusebi) of Bellocchi, Italy. Sadly missed by many cousins, nephews, extended family and friends. In keeping with our father’s wishes there will be no visitation. Family will receive guests after 9:30 a.m. before the Mass that will be held at St. Andrew the Apostle Church (1250 Barrydowne Rd.) on Saturday May 20th, 2017 at 10 a.m., followed by the Celebration of Life downstairs in the church hall. Christian burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Civic Memorial Cemetery (365 Second Ave.) in Sudbury.
