The family announces with great sorrow her passing in Sudbury, Thursday, May 18th, 2017 at the age of 79 years. Wife of the late André Gérard Chrétien. Daughter of the late Wilfred and the late Cécile (née Bilodeau) Giroux. Beloved mother of Liliane Chrétien (James Laroche), Annette Chrétien (Brenda Murphy) and Roland Chrétien. Dear sister of Rita Houle (late Donald), Claude Giroux (late Irmgard), Roland Giroux (Pauline), Thérèse Villeneuve (David), Roger Giroux (Rosanne), Julie Shea (Jerry), Claudette Beaulne (Roger), Gérald Giroux (Carmen), André Giroux (Lori), Marcel Giroux. Predeceased by her brother Hector Giroux (Jeannine). Cherished grandmother of Natalie Roy (Gilles), Joelle Kennedy (Pete), Janelle Comtois (Mark) and great-grandmother of Philip, Alexie and Ellie. Sadly missed by Chad and Logan Laroche, Alyssa Harrington, many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Jean as she liked to be called was retired from Olivetti having worked 25 years as an office manager. She was an avid scrabble and crossword player, gardener and world traveler. She was at her happiest when watching the World figure skating championships around the world. As per her request there will be no visitation. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 27th, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Ste-Marguerite d’Youville Church, Val Thérèse.
