It is with great sorrow that the family announces his passing at Health Sciences North on Monday, July 24th, 2017 at the age of 74 years. Son of the late Laurent and late Rosalia (née Dignard) Chrétien. Beloved husband of 50 years to Madeleine (née Riopel) Chrétien. Loving father of Françoise Bérubé (Paul), Gilles (Angèle) and Daniel (Stéphanie). Cherished grandfather of Lynn, Éric, Alexandre, Émilie and Tristan. Dear brother of Rollande. Predeceased by his siblings Lucille, Lucien and Donat. Sadly missed by many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. Léon was a proud member of Ironworkers Local 786. He will be remembered for being an avid hunter, loving to work in his garage and meeting with friends at Tim Horton’s in Hanmer. Thanks and gratitude to the Doctors and all staff at the Northeast Cancer Centre. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Friday, July 28th, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. in the Chapel. Donations can be made by cheque or online to the Northern Cancer Foundation or a charity of your choice.
