It is with great sorrow that the family announces his passing on Monday, August 7th, 2017 in Owen Sound at the age of 73 years. Son of the late Eugène Daoust and the late Yvonne (née Neault) Daoust. Beloved husband of 50 years to Adrienne (née LeBlanc) Daoust. Loving father of Colette Kuyper, Nicole Lefebvre, Claire Byrnes (Norm) and Rémi Daoust. Cherished “Pépère” of Shane, Chanelle, Kassandra, Danika, Jonathan, Jessica, Joshua, Alcie, Silvia, and Ewan. Cherished “grand-pépère” of Mason, Simon, Kooper, Cameron, Preston and Danny. Loving brother of Laurette, Yvette, Lina and Yvon. Predeceased by his siblings Jeanne, Delia, Marielle, Émile, Albert and Raymond. Sadly missed by many friends and family. René was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a 3rd Degree Council 2092 Granottier and 4th Degree Assembly 3432 Father Francis Xavier. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 4691 R.R. 15, Chelmsford on Thursday, August 10th, 2017 from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. and Friday after 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 11th, 2017 at 1 p.m. at St-Joseph Church, Chelmsford.
