The family announces with great sorrow her passing in Sudbury, Friday, August 25, 2017 at the age of 93 years. Wife of the late Abbie Gagnon. Daughter of late Auguste and late Léa (née Piché) Shanks. Loving mother of Gisèle Tourigny (Ronald), Diane Andrews (Brian) both of Ottawa and Denyse Currie (Rick) of Sudbury. Predeceased by her brother Henri Shanks (Solange) and by her sister Rita Varieur (late Roland). Cherished grandmother of Marc (Marie), (late Marie-Hélène), Charles (Sarah), Roxane (Stéphane), Nadya (Rich), Michael (Lisa), Jeffrey (Mélanie), Christine (Evan) and great-grandmother of Charlotte, Elizabeth, Mackenzie, Nicklas, Alexei, Noah, Jonathan, Kaden, Daphné, Quinn, Layla and late Emmanuel. Special thanks from the family to the staff of le Centre de santé communautaire de Sudbury. Mass will be celebrated Friday September 1st, 2017 at 10:30a.m. at Ste-Anne-des-Pins Church on Beech St. in Sudbury. The family invites friends and relatives to arrive at 9:30a.m. to offer their condolences. In lieu of flowers, a mass in Grace’s memory to the Parish of your choice would be appreciated.
