The family announces with great sorrow his passing in Sudbury, Sunday, October 15, 2017 at the age of 86 years. Beloved husband of Gilberte ‘Betty’ Blais (née Raymond). Son of the late Adelard and the late Antonia (née Lemieux) Blais. Loving father of Richard Blais (Diane), Michel Blais, Denise Bossé (Bob), Gilles Blais (Susan McVey), Nicole Preseau (Rick), Anne Blais (André Grandmaison), Carole Dupuis (Marc) and Claudette Blais (Denis LaSalle). Dear brother of Ernest Blais (Marthe), Antoinette Blais, Thérèse Brouse, Germaine Blais, Marianne D’Amour (Robert) and Jacqueline Blais. Predeceased by his sisters Rita Hawes and Gertrude Brouse. Cherished grandfather of 18 and great-grandfather of 20. Eugène has enjoyed many things in life; spending time with his family, music, fishing, hockey, and playing cards. After retiring from Falconbridge, he enjoyed many years of travel to Florida with the love of his life, Betty. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, Thursday, October 19th, 2017 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, October 20th, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Church, Alban.
