COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME

SERVICES and PRODUCTS

 

STAFF SERVICES :

 

BASIC PROFESSIONAL FEES:

Professional fees related to obtaining and maintaining a valid Ontario Funeral Director’s Licence (renewal and upkeep fees)

FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS WITH FUNERAL DIRECTOR:

Professional consultation with a licensed Funeral Director to consult with family members in regards to arranging the funeral, obtaining all information needed to file required documents, scheduling with clergy, organists, cemetery and/or crematorium, coroners, newspaper notices, etc…

(Please note: Funeral Directors are available 24hrs/day)

OTHER PREPARATIONS:

The preparation of the body for placement into the casket or container, including basic hygienic care, dressing and the setting of facial features for identification or viewing without embalming, removal of jewellery if needed.

EMBALMING:

Embalming is the process of replacing blood and bodily fluids with chemical preservatives.  It is a process of sanitation, restoration and temporary preservation. Embalming is not legally required, but may be recommended to preserve the body between the time of death and the visitation or disposition of the deceased.  Our Funeral Directors will make a recommendation based on the condition of the body and expected services needed.         

REMOVAL TO FUNERAL HOME (STAFF ONLY):

Up to 2 funeral home staff members to remove the deceased from the place of death to the funeral home. Staff are available 24 hrs. a day, 7 days a week for this purpose.

VISITATION:

Staff provided during visitation to service your family. (upkeep of coffee lounge, cleaning, donations etc…)

SUPERVISION OF CEREMONIES:

Services of a licensed Funeral Director to organize and oversee funeral services at church, in chapel or at cemetery.

DELIVERY OF PERSONALS:

Staff member provided to deliver personal effects and floral arrangements to reception or residence.

 

LOCATION AND EQUIPMENT:

 

BASIC FACILITIES CHARGE (COMMON AREAS, ETC.):

Use of coffee lounge (coffee, tea, juice and water provided), access to washrooms, smoking areas etc…

• VISITATION: (Sudbury, Chelmsford and Hanmer locations available)

Use of parlour(s) for receiving family and friends, receiving and placement of floral arrangements and donations and/or masses taken at the front desk.

SHELTER OF DECEASED:

Fee provides for an area monitored by the Health Department and set aside from public access which accords dignified accommodation to the deceased for an undetermined amount of days prior to visitation, burial or cremation.

USE OF OUR CHAPEL (PER 1.5 HR.):

Fee charged for use of our chapel and associated equipment.

USE OF CHURCH EQUIPMENT:

Use of a specialized church truck to carry the casket.

SET UP AND USE OF LOWERING EQUIPMENT: 

Transportation and use of lowering device along with artificial grass to facilitate the interment of a casket in a cemetery where this equipment is not provided.

USE OF ARCH:

A funeral arch provided to hold the ashes during a funeral procession and service. (Pallbearers required: 4)

DOCUMENTATION:

Required documents needed for registration of death, cremation and/or cemetery forms, clergy records as well as the needed amount of certified proof of death certificates.      

(Please note: As an added service, our Funeral Directors will gladly cancel old age pensions and apply for the Canada Pension Plan death and survivor’s benefits, if applicable.)

 

VEHICLES :

 

SERVICE VEHICLE/ TRANSFER VEHICLE:

- Used for transfer to funeral home

- Used for transfer to the crematorium                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              

ADMINISTRATION VEHICLE:

Vehicle used to deliver and pick up medicals, attend to City Hall for registration purposes, delivery of applications to coroner and any additional trips required to facilitate the wishes/desires of your family. This vehicle may also be used, should it be necessary, to attend and supervise the interment of cremated remains at a later date.

FUNERAL COACH: (Maximum: 3hrs)

A custom-built vehicle provided to transport the casketed remains to the church, cemetery or crematorium.

LIMOUSINE: (Maximum: 3hrs)

A custom-built vehicle provided for family members on the day of the funeral for the purpose of having them ride together. (Maximum: 7 passengers)

DIRECTOR / CLERGY VEHICLE: (Maximum: 3hrs)

Vehicle used to lead funeral to church or cemetery; possibly seating clergy and/or pallbearers.

 

OPTIONS:

 

EMBALMING INFECTIOUS CASES, ADDITIONAL FEE:

The funeral home reserves the right to charge a surplus embalming fee to insure the safety of staff members when interacting with all infectious cases.

The removal of a pacemaker or other implanted battery device prior to cremation by a licensed professional.

All prices for products and services are calculated at a maximum value so that all of our clients are charged equally for our services. Package prices contain all of the goods and services provided for a particular funeral service. A discount is provided on some of these packaged services to reflect the fact that not all of the products and services will be used to their full potential. This is a further effort by our establishment to be as fair as possible to our clients.
